The Yale Slavic Chorus sings traditional music from Eastern Europe, the Balkans, and Georgia. Their repertoire is diverse, spanning village songs, holiday carols, work songs, liturgical music, lullabies, arranged versions of folk songs, and more. The Chorus is dedicated to maintaining musical excellence and sharing the power and beauty of these traditions. Founded in the first year of undergraduate coeducation at Yale College, they were the first women’s group on campus and are now a gender-inclusive group.
